A Piece Of Kentucky History

The journey of Heaven Hill Distillery is a tale of trials and triumphs. From its humble beginnings to its current status as a renowned bourbon producer, the distillery has weathered challenges and celebrated successes along the way.

Founded in Bardstown, Kentucky in 1935, Heaven Hill faced adversity early on, including the devastating fire in 1996 that destroyed a significant portion of its facilities. However, through resilience and determination, the distillery rebuilt and continued to thrive. Over the years, Heaven Hill has earned a reputation for producing high-quality spirits, including its iconic brands such as Evan Williams, Elijah Craig, and Larceny. Despite being relatively understated compared to some of its competitors, Heaven Hill's commitment to craftsmanship and tradition has endeared it to bourbon enthusiasts worldwide.

Today, Heaven Hill stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of American whiskey-making, showcasing the power of perseverance in the face of adversity. As the distillery continues to innovate and evolve, its legacy remains firmly rooted in its ability to overcome challenges and emerge stronger than ever.

Distillery Review: Ray Daniel

"I have been a big fan of Heaven Hill for a long time, it’s great to see the brand itself where it’s at today. Heaven Hill at the moment has the momentum that reminds me of the Buffalo Trace Distillery - brands within a brand. Where the BTD has their BTACs and Pappy Van Winkle range, we have Heaven Hill sporting brands such as Parker’s Heritage and Old Fitzgerald.

While the prices are not as outlandish as the Pappy bottlings on the secondary market, these Heaven Hill bottlings are starting to create a decent amount of noise for the bourbon fanatics. Limited and already hard to find on their home turf in Kentucky, it’s fantastic to see the allocations push through to our shores.

In January we were lucky enough to visit the distillery and do our own barrel selection of an Elijah Craig at Barrel Proof. During the visit we were taken through the romance and history of this amazing family owned operation."
