The legendary Old Fitzgetald line is well-known for its distilling pedigree and intriguing story behind its namesake, John E. Fitzgerald. Larceny Bourbon, a descendent of the Old Fitzgerald line, tells the true legend of Treasury Agent John E. Fitzgerald who held the keys to the bonded rickhouses, and helped himself from barrels containing only the finest bourbon. The agent’s selections became known around the distillery as "Fitzgerald barrels” and were used to create a soft, wheated bourbon known as “Old Fitzgerald”.

This tenth edition of the Old Fitzgerald Bottled-In-Bond Series holds a 19-year-old age statement and meets the strict requirements of a bottled-in-bond: the products of a single distillery from a single distilling season, aged a minimum of four years, and bottled at 100 proof or 50% alcohol by volume. As has always been a signature of transparency on bottled--in-bond products, a tax strip proudly shows it is comprised of barrels produced in the Fall of 2003 and bottled in the Fall of 2022.

The packaging was inspired by an original 1950’s Old Fitzgerald diamond decanter, and pays homage to the history of the brand being traditionally bottled in artistic decanters of all shapes and sizes. The green label features the time-honoured graphic of a key, commemorating an important element in original labels and the brand’s slogan since the 1940’s, “Your key to hospitality”.

The nose presents a delightful array of cherry, raspberry, sweet vanilla, fried dough, toffee, and aged oak, creating a deliciously sweet and fruity bouquet. Transitioning to the palate, one encounters flavours of cherry, strawberry jam, fig, aged oak, and French vanilla ice cream, resulting in an excellent taste experience. The finish leaves a lasting impression with notes of dry aged oak, butterscotch, vanilla custard, leather, and cigar box, boasting near-perfect intensity. Aromas of cinnamon, cherry, candied apple, and leather emanate from the glass, while the palate offers a cherry cola essence alongside tart orchard fruit and vanilla flavours.
