The 2021s play perfectly into what Pousse d’Or does best: Combining rich, succulent fruit with complex savor and a structure that virtually guarantees many, many years of cellar potential.

Bonnes-Mares sits on the border between Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis, and at its best, which the Pousse d’Or bottling certainly achieves, it combines perfectly the elegant, heady aromatics of Chambolle with the deep, brooding body and texture of Morey. Like all the top Grand Crus it needs at least eight to ten years of bottle age to really start showing its spectrum of aromas and flavors, but with time you’ll be rewarded with black cherries, wild strawberries, espresso, dark chocolate, cinnamon, clove, orange zest, porcini, and loads of crushed rock minerality.
