Smoky and full of cupboard spices on the nose from its barrel fermentation, with cool climate, greener notes of asparagus, artichoke, capsicum and hedgerow. The palate is vibrant with lemon and mandarin blossom, lemon and lime acidity and Japanese sansho pepper. It's all about the microclimates, baby. From carefully selected single-vineyard sites in Gippsland, vigneron Mark Heath and winemaker Marcus Satchell (of Dirty Three fame) produce small-batch wines bursting with flavor. Combined with a label this fancy, it's the perfect wine to bring to the dinner party.
