Some things never go out of style. Over 100 years old - but looking great for its age - the Old Fashioned is a classic cocktail with serious pedigree. We’ll let others argue about the origin - all we know is this is a darn fine way to knock off work.

The best part? This cocktail is so easy to make at home, you hardly need a recipe. But here’s ours anyway;

Grab this:

- 60ml Woodford Reserve Bourbon
- Angostura bitters
- A sugar cube, or half a teaspoon of sugar
- Ice (the larger the chunk, the better)
- Old Fashioned cocktail glass, or glass tumbler

Do this:

1. Add the sugar to the glass
2. Add a few shakes of the Orange Bitters and stir
3. Add the Woodford Reserve Bourbon and ice
4. Stir everything for about 20 seconds, so it’s mixed through and chilled
5. Optional garnish with a twist of orange
6. Relax and enjoy, you handsome devil you.

Pro-Tip: Worried about grainy sugar? Make a simple sugar syrup, it’ll keep in the fridge for ages.

An Old Fashioned also works great with rye whisky or aged rum in place of bourbon.
